PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material having high contrast and superior stableness of treatment by incorporating a tetrazolium compd. and a specified compd. to at least one of the hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:A tetrazolium comp. and a compd. ( I ) or (II) expressed by the formulas are incorporated into the hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. silver halide emulsion layer. In the formulas, Y1 and Y2 are H or mercapto group; R2 and R3 are alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or alkoxy group or H, halogen, nitro group, amino group, cyano group, hydroxycarbonyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, or alkylcarbonyl group; R1 is the same group as defined by R2 and R3, representing OH, mercapto, and sulpho group also. A is N, C, or O; B is N or C. When A is C atom, n2 is 2; when A is N atom, n2 is 1; when A is O atom, n2 is zero. By this method, deterioration of contrast is prevented and a material having high contrast is obtd. |
