PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which prevents accidents such as buckling of a welding wire, deposition to a power feed chip, etc. by constituting a wire feeder in such a way that the condition for buckling and curving of a wire guide during welding is incessantly monitored and the feed of the welding wire is stopped when the progression of such condition beyond the limit is detected. CONSTITUTION:A welding wire 2 is continuously supplied to a base metal 6 during welding and a wire guide 4 is rotated by a motor M2 in order to feed smoothly the wire 2 in this stage. A detector 11 detects the value of the armature current of the motor M2 proportional approximately to the rotating force of the guide 4. When the degree of curving, etc. of the guide 4 increases during welding, the output of the detector 11 increases as well. The detector 11 delivers an output to a comparator 14 to stop the output to a welding power source 7 and the 1st driving circuit M when the output from said detector exceeds the set value of a reference signal circuit 13 which is preset to a certain value before the buckling of the wire 2 and the deposition to a power feed chip 5 arise in the wire feed path. In other words, the feed of the wire 2 is stopped. |
