The subject of the invention is a micromanipulator device allowing microdisplacements. The device according to the invention is composed of a translational mounting plate including, in particular: a fixed cradle 1 with guide means, rods or slideways 3 for a movable mounting plate 2; a movable mounting plate 2, the position of which is controlled or maintained on the one hand by a set of springs 5, 6, and, on the other, by mechanical and thermal contact with a Peltier module 10; a Peltier module 10 interposed between the fixed part of the cradle 1 and the movable mounting plate 2; a control means provides the said displacement by modifying the direction and magnitude of the current which is flowing in the said Peltier module 10. The invention applies particularly, after having determined the relative positions of a laser beam and of an optical fibre, to the aiming of the said beam with respect to the optical fibre. <IMAGE>
