The line 2 of sawing rolls, placed downstream of a finishing stand 1 of a section (shape) rolling mill, includes consecutive rows of drive or idle rolls and at least two hot cutting saws S1, S2, each placed on one side and on the other of the line 2 of sawing rolls. Each row of rolls includes two distinct juxtaposed rolls which can rotate independently of each other. The drive rolls located on one side and on the other of the line 2 of sawing rolls are fed independently by drive motors 7A, 7B controlled distinctly side by side. Each row of drive rolls includes a short roll 3 and a long roll 4, the said rolls being alternated from one row to the other so that the gap 5 separating them in a row of rolls is never in line for two consecutive rows of rolls. <IMAGE>
