PURPOSE:To reduce the number of underwater operation processes risk to be encountered during the course of construction work or after the completion of the breakwater structure by combining two levees and pile groups. CONSTITUTION:Piles 3 are driven in parallel to the bearing stratum 4 into the seabed 1, a lower levee 6 having holes 7 in its places corresponding to the piles 3 is set under the guidance of piles 3 thrust through the holes 7. A filling material 9 is packed into the lower levee 6, and the piles 3 are horizontally restrained by a concrete cover 8. An upper levee 12 is set on the lower levee 6, cement mortar 13 is poured into the aperture between the piles 3 and the side wall 14 and hardened for stiff connection. The piles 3 driven to the bearing stratum 1 do not fall down even in the course of the construction work, and also the falling of the lower levee 6 can be avoided even when exposed to great waves immediately after being installed because of a kind of self-supporting submerged breakwater. |
