The invention relates to an electronic time counter for billiards, equipped with a liquid crystal display system which indicates the price corresponding to the time of occupancy of a billiard table, depending on a selected tariff. It consists of a time base consisting of two oscillators 2, 3 selected by a step-by-step device 5, each oscillator corresponds to one tariff which can be altered by switching 1, 4, the pulses from the selected oscillator pass into a binary counter 8 then into a decimal counter 11, its content is decoded 12 and displayed 13. A remote control 9, synchronous with the counting, makes it possible to control the power elements. Locking 7 neutralises the manual controls 6 during counting. A backup device guarantees operation in the event of a power cut 10, 14. The electronic time counter according to the invention is used particularly for the game of billiards, but its use is not limiting and may be extended to other games. <IMAGE>
