<p>PURPOSE:To prepare sodium silicate for smelting dephosphorization simply and inexpensively, by subjecting desulfurization slag produced during desulfurization of hot metal with soda ash to air bubbling under molten state. CONSTITUTION:Desulfurization slag produced during desulfurization wherein a desulfurizing agent consisting essentially of soda ash is added to hot metal, and the hot metal is desulfurized before it is fed to a converter is subjected to air bubbling by the use of a bubbling lance, so that S component contained in desulfurization slag is oxidized and removed, to give sodium silicate for smelting dephosphorization. A double pipe made of steel pipe wherein air is made to flow at speed higher than sound speed in the outer pipe, it has cooling effect, and the inner pipe regulates an amount of air introduced is preferable as the bubbling lance used for the operation.</p> |
