摘要 |
PURPOSE:To align optical fibers each other at a high speed with high precision by driving a motor impulsively in the starting stage of alignment, and then driving the motor continuously. CONSTITUTION:This method utilize the driving force of the motor for the mutual alignment of optical fibers. The driving force of the motor is transmitted to a cantilever beam where an optical fiber is mounted through a transmission mechanism to flex the optical fiber, and the quantity of transmitted light from one optical fiber to the other is observed to know the amount of axial displacement. In this case, the motor is driven impulsively with N pulses in the initial stage of the alignment and then driven continuously after the direction wherein the amount of axial displacement is zero is found, and transition to impulsive driving is made when the amount of axial displacement is almost zero. Consequently, the time for the alignment is shortened and the precision of the alignment is improved. |
