PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a toner for electrophotography to electrostatic charge during continuous copying and the clearness and gradation of a copied image by adding a specified metallic complex salt compound to the toner as a charge controller and a colorant. CONSTITUTION:A toner of this invention for electrophotography contains a metallic complex salt compound represented by formula I (where each of X1 and X2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or the like; n is 1-2; m is 1-3; M is Cr or Co; and A<+> is an aliphatic ammonium ion or the like). The compound is electrostatically charged negative and has high coloring power and favorable compatibility to resin for development, so developing powder which is charged negatively can be easily obtd. by mixing the compound with suitable resin for development in a desired ratio. The compound represented by the formula I is prepd. by subjecting a metallic complex salt compound represented by formula II to salt forming treatment with an aliphatic amine or the like. |
