PURPOSE:To take an original out of an original storage part easily by providing a fall preventing member to the receiving wall of a receiving body in a free projecting state, and storing the fall preventing member in the receiving wall in downward rotation and projecting it from the receiving wall in upward rotation. CONSTITUTION:The nearly U-shaped receiving body 17 which includes a plate type body 12 covering a platen 11 is pivoted on a copying machine body 10 rotatably through a hinge 13 to constitute the storage part 19 for originals A. The fall preventing member 21 formed of flexible material in a thin-plate shape is fitted slidably in a couple of holes 20 formed in the receiving wall 16. When this storage part 19 is turned downward to close the platen 11, one end surface 21b of the fall preventing member 21 is at the same position with the opening end surface 16a of the receiving wall 16, so originals A are taken out of the storage part 19 easily. When the storage part is turned upward to further open the platen 11, the fall preventing member 21 slides in the holes 20 and one end surface 21b projects from the opening end surface 16a, so the originals A do not fall by dropping.
