PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as additives, etc. in high yield in a short time without forming by-products, by mixing selenium powder with alumina powder as a catalyst, packing the resultant mixture powder in a reaction tube, passing nitrogen gas through the reaction tube, and changing over the nitrogen gas with acetylene gas while keeping the reaction tube at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:Selenium powder is mixed with alumina powder as a catalyst at (1:10)- (1:2) weight ratio, and the resultant mixture powder 11 is then packed in a reaction tube 10. Nitrogen gas is then passed from a gas cylinder 12 through the reaction tube 10, and the mixture powder 11 is heated thoroughly to 380-440 deg.C. The nitrogen gas is then replaced with acetylene gas from a gas cylinder 13 and reacted while keeping the above-mentioned temperature to give the aimed selenophene. The shape of the above- mentioned alumina is pellets having 2-4mm. grain diameter. The dehydrogenation reaction of acetylene is facilitated by the action of the alumina, and the reaction time is remarkably reduced by the above-mentioned method of reaction. The reaction mechanism is considered as follows; The reaction is carried out by a mechanism expressed by reaction formulas, and the hydrogen selenide formed by the reaction is reacted according to the reaction formulas to give the aimed substance. |
