PURPOSE:To measure the quantity of phospholipid at a high accuracy by using phosphorypase and cholin oxidase an immobilized enzyme. CONSTITUTION:A teflon membrane 4 which transmits oxygen molecules is installed to the bottom of the outer tube 2 of a phospholipid sensor, and outside the teflon membrane, a phospholipid transmission membrane 7 containing immobilized enzyme 8 mixed with phosphorypase and cholin oxidase is provided. This sensor is immersed in a solution, and blood serum specimen is injected and phospholipid in the blood serum reacts with water in the solution with phosphorypase in the immobilized enzyme used as a catalyst, and by this reaction, cholin and fatty acid are produced. Cholin thus produced reacts with oxygen in the solution with cholin oxidase in the immobilized enzyme used as a catalyst and produces betaine and hydrogen peroxide. As a result of this, the quantity of oxygen molecules around a cathode 3 decreases and a current flowing between the cathode 3 and anode 1 also decreases and the quantity of phospholipid can be measured. |
