PURPOSE:To enable an easy detection of a radioactive substance with an inexpensive equipment by supplying a liquid sample to a radiation measuring container containing a stimulating phosphorescent substance to read out a radiation energy photoelectrically after absorbed by the measuring container. CONSTITUTION:A liquid sample 3 is supplied sequentially to a radiation measuring container 1 containing a stimulating phosphorescent substance 1a. The measuring container 1 is left for a fixed time at a storage section 3 so that at least a part of a radiation energy released from a radioactive substance in a liquid sample 3 will be absorbed by the measuring container 1. Then, the radiation energy stored in the measuring container 1 is read out photoelectrically in the combination of a light source 7, a photo detector 9, an amplifier 10 and a recorder 11 to measure radioactivity in the liquid sample 3 continuously. |
