PURPOSE:To obtain a traveling-wave tube with a periodic magnetic field device that forms stable electron beams in the high frequency band by setting the inside diameter to less than the specified length and specifying a specific size relationship between the outside and inside diameters of magnetic field cycle and a spiral. CONSTITUTION:A formula L/gamma0<=30 is established by setting the inside diameter of the spiral circuit 2 of a traveling-wave tube to less than 2mm. and two thirds of the value obtained by adding the outside diameter of the spiral circuit 2 to the inside diameter and by dividing the result by 2 to gamma0 and then the magnetic field of the convergent magnetic field of a magnet for focusing beam to L. A stable and narrow electron beam 1 can be formed for disturbance in the high frequency band by using this structure. |
