A pressure duct (2) and an opposing intake duct (3), the pipe duct (4) to a storage boiler and the opposing duct (5) to the atmosphere are led off outwards at angular intervals of 90 DEG from a rotationally symmetrical slide-valve housing (1). A partition wall (7), which divides off the connection chambers (10, 11) and connects by way of an opening (8) closable by means of a valve flap (9), projects at right angles from one axial slide-valve wall (6). The valve flap closes under its own weight, by spring force or due to a flow (15). It is normally swivelled into the open position by a flow (16) from (2) to (4). If, when switching over to pressure operation, the rotary slide valve is swivelled 90 DEG clockwise, the valve flap (9) closes under its own weight or spring loading and can be opened by a flow from (4) to (3). In the operating position shown, the flap/non-return valve temporarily closes in the event of pressure fluctuations and continues to store the pressure energy introduced up to that time. In the filling process, the intervening closure of the non-return valve causes increasing throttling and prevents any foaming of the filled medium, which permits a reduction of the gas fraction and a greater degree of filling. <IMAGE>
