PURPOSE:To enhance the collimation effect by a method wherein, when Cs atoms, which evaporated from a Cs steam generating part constituting an atomic beam source, are turned into Cs atomic beams through a collimator and the Cs atomic beams are made incident into a Cs atomic beam detecting part, the collimator is constituted of a laminated body of plural flat plates and plural grooved plates and both ends thereof are vertically cut and grooves cut in the grooved plates are made to expose. CONSTITUTION:Cs is heated to 80-100 deg.C at a Cs steam generating part 1, which is an atomic beam source, and is made to evaporate. Produced Cs atoms are turned into Cs atomic beams 9 through a collimator and the atomic beams 9 are made incident into a Cs atomic beam detecting part 7 through a first state selection-magnetic field forming part 2, a high frequency transition part 3 and a second state selection-magnetic field forming part 6. At this time, the atomic beams 9 are applied microwave signals from a high frequency input part 8 on the way to the Cs atomic beam detecting part 7 and the frequency is made to resonate at the high frequency transition part 3. In this constitution, the collimator is constituted of a laminated body of a flat plate 31 and a grooved plate 32 having long rectangular form-grooves 34, and by being cut the end parts thereof, the collimator is made into a holed block 33, wherein holes 35 have exposed both in front and in rear. |
