PURPOSE:To realize a high speed responsiveness of a tracking by constituting so that when a magnetic disk is installed to a reproducing device, an optimum track position is stored at first by utilizing an output of a head position sensor, and subsequently, when a desired track is designated, a tracking servo is applied by comparing said stored optimum track position and the output of the head position sensor. CONSTITUTION:Voltage which increases linearly as a head arm 108 moves upward appears in an output 136 of a voltage divider 134, converted to a shape of a corresponding digital data by an analog-to-digital converter 138, and supplied to a data input 140 of a memory 142. In this state, when a peak detector 126 energizes a lead 128 in response to a peak value, a value of output voltage of a position sensor corresponding to the peak value is inputted to the memory 142, and this data is accumulated in a storage position of an address designated from a controlling circuit 150. When an output of the position detector 134 is stored in the memory 142 with regard to a final track 102, too, the controlling circuit 150 ends the initializing operation. |
