PURPOSE:To obtain a floppy disk having high storage density by attaching a magnetism orienting magnet for impressing magnetic field in the circumferential direction of the disk to a punch for cutting off the disk by punching a base film, rotating the disk over the base film at a very small distance from the film to orient the magnetic powder in magnetic paint, curing the paint, and cutting off by the punch. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic paint and a binding agent of epoxy resin wherein gamma- Fe2O3 powder is dispersed are coated on the surface of a polyester base film 1 with a coating roll 2, and the film is sent under a punch 4 of ABS resin to which a sectorial magnet 3 for generating magnetic field in the circumferential direction of a disk is attached. A die 5 for supporting the film 1 and the punch 4 are provided with edges 6 and 7 corresponding to the contour of the disk. Magnetic field is impressed uniformly upon the film 1 surrounded with the contour of the disk in the circumferential direction of the disk by matching the punch 4 with the die 5 and rotating the punch, and the magnetic powder of the paint coated on the film 1 is oriented in the circumferential direction of the disk. As the binding agent of the paint is cured in about one minute, the revolution of the punch 4 is stopped. The punch 4 is then pressed toward the die 5 to cut off the film 1 by the edge 6, and the disk is formed. |
