PURPOSE:To decrease the squeaking of a tape, and to prevent the deterioration on aging of the initial electromagnetic conversion characteristic by infiltrating an organic lubricating agent diluted with an organic solvent between thin plates laminated from the sliding surface side of the magnetic tape of a magnetic head into a fixing material. CONSTITUTION:After forming a sliding surface, an organic lubricating agent is diluted with an organic solvent. The soln. contg. 0.1-50wt% concn. organic lubricating agent is infiltrated into a fixing material 3 or between high-permeability laminated thin plates constituting magnetic half bodies 4a-4d, between partition plates 5a-5c when the partition plates are laminated, and into clearances between the magnetic core bodies 4a-4d and the partition plates 5a-5c. Then the organic solvent is volatilized. Chain hydrocarbons such as pentane and hexane are used as the organic solvent. Metallic soap, fatty acid esters, higher alcohols, or petroleum lubricating agents of various kinds, mixed lubricating agents, or further lubricating oils mixed with a prescribedamt. of a viscosity increasing agent can be used preferably among the lubricating agents. |
