PURPOSE:To shorten a tracking time, and also to execute a tracking with high accuracy even in case the S/N of a receiving signal is inferior, by detecting the specified cycle of a carrier wave in a received loran pulse. CONSTITUTION:A pulse group constituted of a sampling pulse train having the prescribed number of pulses synchronizing with a carrier wave is generated by making it synchronize with a received loran pulse, and a sampling value of a receiving signal obtained at every one pulse in the sampling pulse group is stored. Whether this stored value exceeds a prescribed reference value or not is discriminated, and basing on the result of discrimination, the carrier wave in the loran pulse is detected at every one cycle, and basing on the detected carrier wave cycle, the specified cycle of the carrier wave in the loran pulse is detected.
