A special attachment of the top or bottom ring of a drum is described, by means of which damaged top and bottom rings can easily be exchanged. The top and bottom ring is attached to a plurality of elements, which are firmly welded to the drum, by rivets or claws which are drilled or ground open for exchange. The top and the bottom ring and the elements which are firmly welded to the drum have channel-type gaps in the longitudinal direction of the drum, by means of which gaps the washing liquid can easily drain away. <IMAGE>
