Hydraulic telescopes in particular are known as multiple telescopes for supports and masts. But these telescopes, due to the system, are very restricted with regard to telescoping lengths and speeds and transfer of bending moments. To largely eliminate these restrictions for running the tubes, one or more thin, highly elastic, transversely arched, driven bands guided in the telescopic support are arranged according to the invention, which bands, in interaction with the tubes, form a supporting system for general external loading. To keep the friction between the tubes low when telescoping under a bending moment, they are supported by rollers or rolling bodies combined in a device, rollers, for example, being held pressed against the telescopic-support contour in a concentrically path-controlled manner by spiral discs. The gradual infeed of the rollers to the telescopic-support contour is controlled by the tube steps themselves and is also performed by the drive of the bands. The bands are preferably transversely troughed in a plastic manner and for driving and storage are transferred elastically into a planar state by a supporting transverse formation. <IMAGE>
