The apparatus has a flow channel, atomizing nozzles for a wash liquid arranged in the flow channel axis, at least one annular gap washer arranged behind the atomizing nozzles in the flow direction, with an adjustable built-in body, and a spray electrode assembly arranged before the annular gap washer in the flow direction and connectable to a high voltage source. The flow channel cross-section is designed for a flow speed of the gas of 5-30 m/sec (preferably 5-15 m/sec). The spray electrode assembly has a spray electrode length of 12-40 cm (preferably 15-20 cm) in the flow direction of the gas, and polarization electrodes surrounding the spray electrodes.
