PURPOSE:To efficiently manufacture an angle steel with excellent dimensional accuracy by cutting an angle steel, which is rolled to a length exceeding the length of a cooling bed, to a length capable of being accommodated into said cooling bed and, then, sending it back to the cooling bed when manufacturing said angle steel in a continuous mill having a long-size cooling bed. CONSTITUTION:When an angle steel manufactured from steel block with a large- section is cut to more than one piece and translocated to a cooling bed 17, a run-out table in front of the cooling bed 17 is extended, a cutting machine 18 is provided on the starting point of the extended part 22, and an angle steel, which is rolled to a rolled elongation length exceeding the installation length of the cooling bed 17, is moved to the run-out table 22 and cut by means of the cutting machine 18 to a length to be accommodated in the cooling bed 17, before it is sent back and fed to the cooling bed 17. The measured length of elongation after finish rolling, is obtained by operation by means of a computer based on the inputs from a pulse transmitter 24 provided on the mill motor for a final finish mill 16, and from steel detectors 26, 27. Then, to cut both preceding and succeeding members to the same length, operation is carried out by means of the computer based on signals from a pulse generator provided on the shaft of a conveying roller table and from a steel detector 28.
