FIELD: production of ferrous and nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: plant has water-cooled casting wheel, channel on its outer surface and ring. Ring covers channel over its entire length of circumference. Ring consists of separate no interconnected segments. Segments are brought transverse relative to casting channel direction to open it and move back to form working cavity. EFFECT: improved quality of castings, increased plant service life and increased rate of casting. 4 cl, 18 dwg
