In a process for producing piezoelectric components made of polarisable plastic foils, the latter are provided with metallisations (1, 3, 5; 2, 4, 6) which have a metal-free edge strip at least on one side. The metallised plastic films are wound onto discs or drums in such a way that the metallisations (1, 3, 5; 2, 4, 6) are alternately brought out at one of the two end faces in each case. The end faces of the toroidal winding are provided with a contact layer (7, 8) by a metal spraying process. The individual components are then separated from the toroidal winding. <IMAGE>
