The invention relates to a device for monitoring and variable combating of persons or vehicles penetrating into a terrain section, optical fibre contact sensors being allocated to an aimed mine or another aimed weapon for setting the fuse signal, the optical fibre of which is provided with a special jacket of predeterminable tearing and bending strength, and which has further devices for target discrimination and signal triggering depending on the mission.
