Light-sensitive elements for electrophotography

A light-sensitive element for electrophotography consists of a light-sensitive layer which is formed on a conductive substrate, the light-sensitive layer containing a powder of a photoconductive phthalocyanine which is dispersed in a binder containing a fluorinated thermosetting acrylic resin. The fluorinated thermosetting acrylic resin is a random copolymer which is prepared by copolymerisation of a fluorinated polymerisable monomer of the general formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> is hydrogen or methyl and X is fluorinated alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or fluorinated hydroxyalkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and one or more acrylic monomers. A melamine resin can be used as a part of the binder. A preferred photoconductive phthalocyanine material is copper phthalocyanine, metal-free phthalocyanine and/or a derivative thereof.
