The invention relates to a device for testing pneumatic tyres of vehicles, having a tyre rotation device, expanding devices and a clamping device with clamping elements for fixing a tyre bead, expansion elements of the expanding devices being arranged movably in such a way that, using clamping elements as abutments, they engage on the sidewall and/or shoulder of the test specimen adjacent to the clamped tyre bead when the blank undergoes cross-sectional expansion. To allow use for various tyre sizes, it is proposed that clamping elements be arranged movably in such a way that the diameter of a circle formed by bead holders is variable.
