PURPOSE:To automatically sink a float-vanish breakwater, by providing such an arrangement that wave incoming side and controlling mooring wires for mooring and supporting the float-vanish breakwater are wound onto drums in opposite directions with respect to each other, and the controlling mooring wire is wound up by paying-off of the wave incoming side mooring wire due to waves. CONSTITUTION:A wave incoming side mooring wire 11A and a controlling mooring wire 11C are wound around, respectively onto drums 18, 19 which are allowed to rotate in only one direction opposite to each other by means of ratchets 26, 27 and ratchet wheels 24, 25 and which are disposed in the casing 14 of a float-vanish breadwater body 13. When the float-vanish breakwater body 13 is moved in the direction opposite to the wave incoming side mooring wire 11A by waves or the like, the wave incoming side mooring wire 11A is paid out from the drum 19. Thereby, the controlling mooring wire 11C is wound up by the other drum 18. With this arrangement, the float-vanish breakwater is sunk due to paying-out and taking-up of the wires 11A, 11C. Accordingly, in a violent wave condition upon stormy weather, the float-vanish breakwater is automatically sunk to prevent the mooring wires from being subjected to excessive tension.
