The invention relates to safety wheels for a vehicle with pneumatic tyres, which wheels have flat base rims or collar base rims and tyres with rotatable tyre beads which can be displaced on the rim in an eccentric-like manner. The tyres can be mounted without difficulty on these rims without full drop centres and ensure security against pressure loss and slipping off of the rim when subjected to high lateral forces.
