In the case of a circular shear cutter or a crush cutter, which can be fastened onto a smooth shaft, for reel cutters, it is intended to make radial bracing possible which is uniform on all sides which does not adversely affect manufacturing tolerances to a great extent and ensures a long service life. To this end, the clamping means is an elastomer, which, filling all the cavities of a groove in the hub of the crush cutter, communicates with a piston which is supported against a tightening screw in the cutter hub, as can most easily be seen in Fig. 1. <IMAGE>
