PURPOSE:To obtain a gas diffusion electrode having good binding capability and electrode performance by kneading fluorine resin dispersion and catalyst powder for fiber forming and heat-treating it in an atmosphere of inactive gas at a temperature below the melting point of fluorine resin, and crushing it and press- molding the powder obtained to an electrode substrate. CONSTITUTION:56g of polytetrafluoroethylene dispersion and 700cc of water are added to 100g of platinum added carbon which is catalyst powder and they are kneaded for fiber forming. Then they are heat-treated in an atmosphere of nitrogen gas at 270 deg.C for three hours. This heat-treated material is crushed with a high speed crusher to form powder. This powder is filled into a molding frame, and a nickel net which is an electrode substrate and porous polytetrafluoroethylene resin film are covered thereon and they are press-molded to form a gas diffusion electrode. |
