PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion and growth of large drip of fuel at the opening of tip end of a nozzle by a method wherein the tip end of the fuel injection valve is protruded so as to be exposed to airstreams which flow toward a suction air port. CONSTITUTION:In the fuel injection device of a gasoline engine, when a solenoid coil 21 excited, a center core 18 is magnetized and a plunger 22 is attracted to the side of the center core 18 together with a valve 23 against the resilient force of a compression coil spring 25. Fuel becomes whirling stream in the flow style thereof during passing through a swirl port 26 and is injected from the opening 28 of the nozzle 29. At this moment, the tip end of the opening 28 is exposed to the airstream around a holder 14, which flows toward the suction air port, therefore, the solenoid coil 21 becomes non-exciting and the inside of a valve seat 17 is closed by a valve 23. According to this method, even when the drip of fuel is adhered to the peripheral rim of the opening 28, it may be blown off toward the side of the suction air port by the airstream immediately. |
