PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-density Ti-Ni alloy having a low oxygen content at a low cost by mixing powders of Ti-Ni alloys having different compositions so that the ratio between Ti and Ni is made proper and by pressurizing and sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Two or more kinds of Ti-Ni alloys each contg. >0-<48atom% Ni or >54-<100atom% Ni are crushed, and the resulting alloy powders are mixed so that 48-54atom% Ni is contained. The mixture is compacted and sintered, and the sintered body is held under pressure and subjected to soln. heat treatment. By this method a Ti-Ni alloy material having a significant shape memory effect is obtd.
