PURPOSE:To provide the titled resin having high crosslinkability and giving a cured product having high toughness and excellent abrasion resistance and solvent resistance, by mixing two kinds of hot liquids each obtained by mixing a bis(oxazoline) compound and a dicarboxylic acid at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be prepared by mixing (A) the A-liquid containing (i) a bis(2-oxazoline) compound and (ii) <=0.7mol, based on 1mol of the component (i), of a dicarboxylic acid and meltable with heat with (B) the B- liquid containing (i) <=0.7mol, based on the component (ii), of a bis(2-oxazoline) compound and (ii) the above component (ii) and meltable with heat, and optionally heating the mixture. The molar ratio of the component (i) to the component (ii) in the whole resin is selected to >=1.
