PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts, and to simplify a process by using in common a plug body and a cylindrical case. CONSTITUTION:A tuning fork type crystal oscillator 300 is formed by a plug body 17 formed by sealing hermetically a lead terminal 16 consisting of an inner lead 14 and an outer lead 15, a tuning fork type crystal oscillating piece 19 whose base part 18 is fixed to the tip of the inner lead 14, and a cylindrical case 20 for vacuum-sealing the tuning fork type crystal oscillating piece 19 by means of vacuum-sealing to the plug body 17. Also, the tuning fork type crystal oscillating piece 19 in this oscillator 300 is fixed so that a width W of the base part has an interval which is smaller than a distance S1 between the outside ends of the inner lead 14 and larger than a distance S2 between the inside ends of the inner lead 14.
