PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording medium capable of being preserved for a long period of time and having favorable recording and reproduction characteristics, by incorporating specified metallic particulates and a specified compound into a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In an optical information recording medium for recording and reproducing information by irradiating a reflective recording layer provided on a base with a high-density energy beam, the recording layer comprises reflective metallic particulates and a compound for forming a water-insoluble metal complex. A compound capable of forming a coordinate bond with ion of a metal having a particulate structure, namely, a ligand, is used as the compound for forming a water-insoluble metal complex. The metal having the particulate structure is Be, Mg, Sc, Y, Sm, Th, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Co, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt, Ag, Au, Zn, Cd, Hg, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, As, Sb, Bi, Se or Te, which may be used either singly or in combination or as an alloy of two or more thereof. |
