PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium excellent in long-period stability, by laminating a light-reflective film on the surface of a foamable resin layer provided on a base. CONSTITUTION:A resin layer 6 comprising a foaming agent is provided on the base 5, and the light-reflective film 7 is laminated on the surface of the resin layer 6. The optical recording medium thus constructed easily shows a marked increase in the volume of the resin layer when being irradiated with laser beam R or the like due to the presence of the foaming agent in the resin layer, so that not only such metals as Te and Bi but also a corrosion-resistant metal such as Al can be used for the light-reflective film. Accordingly, the optical recording medium can be produced with excellent long period stability. In addition, it is possible to produce the resin layer in a relatively small thickness and to use a metal or other base beneath the resin layer. |
