INTER-FRAME CODER FOR COMPENSATING MOVEMENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the coding efficiency in movement compensating coding by calculating an initial vector with high accuracy even from an edge part of a moving object to detect an accurate optimum forecasting block. CONSTITUTION:An optimum forecasting block detecting circuit 4 selects an optimum block from a blocked signal inputted from a pre-processing circuit 2 in a sense that a prescribed evaluating function is minimized among plural blocks in the vicinity before one frame and outputs the signal of the said block, and output the block signal to a subtractor 5 as a forecasting signal. Simultaneously, a shift vector code representing the selected block is outputted to a multiplex circuit 10. The multiplex circuit 10 applies time division multiplex to a variable length code obtained from a variable length coding circuit 9 and the shift vector code obtained from the optimum forecasting block detecting circuit 4 and transmits the result to a transmission buffer memory 11. The transmission buffer memory 11 matches code data to be inputted and having different length to the transmission speed on the transmission line and outputs the result from a code output terminal 12.
