摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a billet having excellent surface quality of non-ferrous metal, steel having large and small sections in a hot top casting device with gaseous pressure by specifying the material and inside dimension of a nozzle provided to a receiving tank for a molten metal and providing an air permeable material on the boundary surface with a casting mold and further a mold oscillating means. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 3 formed of a heat insulating material is provided to a receiving tank 4 consisting of a heat insulator provided beneath a tundish 1. The inside dimension of the nozzle is made smaller than the inside dimension of a casting mold 6 which is forcibly cooled by cooling water 7A. An air permeable material 5 is fitted into the space between the nozzle 3 and the mold 6 and an oscillating means is provided to the mold 6. The mold 6 is thereupon vertically and finely oscillated and the molten metal 2 is charged from the tundish 1 through a nozzle 1A into the tank 4. The molten metal is not cooled until said metal is charged through the bottom 3 into the mold 6 then a solidified shell 15 is formed and is drawn by pinch rollers 16. An inert gas 17 is introduced via the material 5 into the mold 6 so that the shell 15 is smoothly and uniformly formed under the molten metal surface 4.
