INPUT/OUTPUT PROCESSING UNIT

摘要

PURPOSE:To operate the unit as a unit having 2N sets of logical channels by setting two input and output processing units to any of master/slave and blocking an interface of a central controller to the input/output prcoessing unit of the slave side. CONSTITUTION:A data processing system having two sets of input/output processing units is constituted that one input/output processing unit is set to the master unit and the other is set to the slave set, an interface line (1) of the slave unit to the central controller is blocked so that the two input/output controllers 3 connected to a memory control unit 4 are operated as one set of input/output processing unit. The two master/slave input/output processing units 3 are regarded substantially as one processing unit logically when viewed from the memory unit 4. A communication means provided between the master and slave units is provided to control the channel device at the slave side from the memory control unit via the master unit.
