PURPOSE: A monitoring apparatus is provided to monitor an audio analog to digital converter(ADC) signal and a signal in compliance with the AES/EBU broadcast standards by carrying out a decoding operation to check whether an AES/EBU signal is normally transmitted or not. CONSTITUTION: A controller(11) carries out a sampling frequency control, an output format control, and an operation state control. An analog to digital converter(12) converts an analog signal inputted according to the control of the controller(11) into a digital signal with respect to a valid signal having more than a certain magnitude. A data synchronization part(13) performs a synchronization of digital data outputted from the analog to digital converter(12) according to the controller(11). A monitoring part(14) monitors whether a normal operation is carried out according to a sound.
