<p>Process for producing porous materials with air resistance values, which are variable within wide limits, as a measure for the pore size. A coarse-pored substrate is filled with a dispersion of a micronized, agglomeratable filler and the dispersing agent is removed. The filler may be introduced into the coarse-pored substrate by dipping, applying, sponging on, filtering, washing on or spraying on. The filler agglomerates in the pores on removal of the liquid phase. In addition to other fields of application, substrates filled in this way are suitable as battery separators, particarly for lead-acid batteries.</p> |
