<p>An unfoldable and foldable mast is provided herein which is formed by a plurality of elementary parts. Each mast comprises a first base with "n" sides common to a preceding elementary part, and a second base with "n" sides common to a following elementary part, two consecutive sides of the first base and the second base subsending an angle therebetween. A number of rods connect together the angles of the bases, the number of rods being equal to the number of sides of the bases. Each rod includes thereof hinges having a degree of freedom in the middle and at the ends thereof, thereby making such rods bondable, the hinges being equipped with stops. Cables are provided to form cross-braces. Finally, a deployment mechanism is provided. Such an unfoldable and foldable mast is intended to be used more particularly in the space field or to be mounted on light vehicles for erecting telecommunications antennae, etc.</p> |
