PURPOSE:To improve operability in the inspection of the projection and recess state of the surface of a structural material and a measurement, error and control the surface of the structural material with high reliability by calculating the cross correlation between an incident and a reflected ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage pulse for ultrasonic wave generation from an oscillator 12 is transmitted to a probe 11, which generates an ultrasonic wave pulse T; and the pulse T propagates in water 2 and is reflected by the surface of a body 1 to obtain a reflected wave R. The reflected wave R propagates in the water 2 and is converted by the probe 11 into an electric signal, which is supplied to a signal processing circuit 13 to calculate the cross correlation with the incident wave T; and data on the maximum value of its absolute value is supplied to a display circuit 14. |
