Magnetic therapy involves the provision of a permanent magnetic field close to the patient's skin near the affected part of the body. This is usually done by attaching permanent rigid magnets by means of bracelets, sticking plaster etc. The present field generators consist of flexible sheets of magnetic material which can be sewn into clothing or belts, or can be made into footwear sole inserts. The material is made by sandwiching a layer of ferrite powder or beads between two layers of fibre.
