METHOD FOR MEASURING MARGIN OF OPERATION OF DIGITAL REPEATER

PURPOSE:To attain the measurement from external position without opening a repeater to be measured by superimposing an interference wave on an input pulse signal and measuring separately a code error rate of an identified reproducing output at space and mark side. CONSTITUTION:The interference wave such as rectangular wave or sinusoidal wave from an interference wave generating source 11 is superimposed on an input pulse and the superimposed signal is inputted to a digital repeater 3 to be measured. The level of the interference wave where each code error rate at the mark side and the space side of the repater 3 is a specified value by using a code error rate measuring device 13 possible for measuring separately the code error of the mark side and the space side of the identified reproducing output signal of the repeater 3. Since the operation margin of the repeater 3 is obtained based on this measured value, the repeater 3 is measured externally simply without opening the repeater 3.
