PURPOSE:To obtain a magenta dye good and stable in hue of a transferred image by using a specified compd. for a magenta dye image forming material (CPM) for releasing a diffusible magenta dye or its precursor contained in a photosensitive element. CONSTITUTION:A magenta CPM for releasing a diffusible magenta dye or its precursor contained in a photosensitive element uses a compd. represented by formula I in which Car is a carrier component capable of releasing a diffusible dye or its precursor from said compd. in alkali when oxidized or reduced; R is H or 1-3 C alkyl; R<1> is formula II; X is OH, or its salt, or a group convertible into OH by hydrolysis; Y is formula III; m is 0 or 1; R<4>, R<5> are each H, 1-4 conductive substrate alkyl, cycloalkyl, or aryl; R<6> is acyl, alkoxyphenyl, or the like; and R<7> is H or 1-8C alkyl. Said magenta CPM has high reactivity and produces a transferred magenta dye image good and stable in hue and high in transfer density. It can obtain a transferred magenta dye image high in density when it is arranged on a process control layer.
