PURPOSE:To provide a silver halide photosensitive material high in the adhesion force of a hydrophilic colloid layer, superior in photographic characteristics, and high in the effect of reduction speed control by incorporating a specified polymer latex in a hydrophilic colloid layer. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photosensitive material is formed by coating a support with at least one hydrophilic colloid layer including a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and at least one of said hydrophilic colloid layer contains at least one kind of polymer latex represented by the general formula shown here in which, m, n are each wt% of each repeating unit, and l+m+n= 100, 10<=m<=70, n<=15; R1, R3, R4 are each H, methyl, ethyl, OH, or the like; R2 is 1-4C alkyl optionally branched; R5 is H, OH, halogen, or optionally substd. 1-6C alkyl; and R6 is H or a univalent group.
